Alexander Isak to Liverpool really looks to be on. New updates suggest Newcastle are getting ready to do a deal.
It's no secret to anyone at this point that Liverpool hope to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. That's been their gameplan all year - but the Magpies are making it difficult.
As they would, to be fair. Isak is Newcastle's star player and they don't want to lose him. The problem is that Liverpool are happy to part with a record amount in order to sign Isak and the player himself wants to move to Anfield.

That forces Newcastle's hand somewhat. Isak is unlikely to ever be worth this much again. Next summer he'll be a year older, with a year less on his contract and with no guarantee whatsoever that Newcastle qualify for the UEFA Champions League again.
But here's the bigger issue: Newcastle can't find a replacement. They've tried and failed to sign several strikers now, with all of them picking other clubs.
It's difficult to believe that Newcastle would entertain the idea of selling Isak without finding a new striker to take his place. The money isn't worth anything if they can't spend it on anyone, after all.

Newcastle's striker hunt heats up
One 'advantage' Newcastle now have is that there isn't really any competition for strikers anymore. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all picked up who they wanted (Isak aside).
And so news that Newcastle are pushing forward for Randal Kolo Muani is a positive sign for the Reds. Sky Germany make the claim and they're not the only ones reporting interest.
Sky Sports claim Newcastle are closing in on a move for Yoane Wissa from Brentford. The Athletic suggest Samu Aghehowa is on their list, too.
This all comes after Ben Jacobs said Newcastle did have other targets on their list and that it wasn't a concern ahead of any Isak deal. The real concern there is that they want him to sign a new contract - fail to do so and he's off.
