In a game filled with few bright spots, Amar Johnson made sure he had his shining moment in the Green Bay Packers' preseason opener on Saturday, Aug. 9.
The first-year running back from South Dakota State, looking to stand out and make a name for himself, scored the team's only touchdown in a Packers 30-10 loss to the New York Jets.
Johnson's 39-yard touchdown, in fact, was the longest for a Packers RB since the 2023 season when Aaron Jones ripped off a run for 53 yards in the team's NFC divisional playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
It might be the preseason but it's a time for players like Johnson who are out to make the most of every opportunity to impress coaches and show that they belong in the NFL.
The undrafted rookie is off to a great start in doing that.
He was about as fired up as anyone in Lambeau Field after his score and secured his first-ever Lambeau Leap.

With the Packers trailing 27-3 early in the fourth quarter with just over 12 minutes left in a game that was pretty much forgettable in all facets, Johnson finally gave fans something to celebrate.
After getting the handoff from Sean Clifford, Johnson displayed great vision up the middle a before bouncing off a defender and then finding an angle where he dove to the left pylon to complete the 39-yard touchdown.
The celebration was on. He jumped up for a Lambeau Leap, where the fans gave him a lift to the front row.

Backup running backs Emanuel Wilson and MarShawn Lloyd remain out with training camp injuries and Jalen White, another undrafted rookie, left Saturday's game with an injury.
Chris Brooks, who spent last season on the Packers' practice squad, had some solid runs early in the game before Johnson took over.
Recently-signed Israel Abanikanda, a third-year pro, is also on the Packers roster.
