Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Manchester City over a summer transfer deal to sign Brazilian attacking midfielder Savinho, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club are looking to complete a €50 million deal for the Man City winger, and while the Etihad Stadium club are not actively looking to sell him, he is open to the move. Their manager Pep Guardiola tends not to stand in the way of players who want to leave, which hands Spurs an advantage as head coach Thomas Frank looks to bolster his attack following the departure of Son Heung-Min.
Both clubs have yet to reach an agreement, but a deal could be on the cards with talks continuing. Tottenham will be without Dejan Kulusevski for the opening weeks of 2025-26, while James Maddison could miss the whole of the season after undergoing surgery following an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Spurs have to strengthen their options in the final third and the 21-year-old Savinho fits the bill after his promising debut Premier League campaign.
He moved to Man City from Girona last summer, ending the 2024-25 campaign with three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.
