Athletic: Chelsea player being to open certain move could help Xavi Simons to Chelsea

Xavi Simons to Chelsea could be massively helped after the latest updates from The Athletic this Monday morning.

We first started to hear strong links suggesting that Chelsea could use the advantage of an unofficial swap deal to unlock Simons heading to Stamford Bridge this summer. Christopher Nkunku was one name that was mentioned.

Chelsea clearly need to sell some players, but why not use some of these players they need to sell as makeweights to players they want to buy?

There was even talk that Nkunku could be used in Chelsea’s clear intentions to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United as well recently, but that one looks unlikely.

What is looking much more likely at this point is Nkunku returning to his former club, RB Leipzig, as part of the deal for Chelsea to bring Simons in. This would be a smart move for all involved, surely?

Of course, to do a swap deal then the player must be keen on the move. But would Nkunku really want to go back to his former club? Yes, according to The Athletic he would be.

The report says Christopher Nkunku would be open to a return to RB Leipzig this summer if his former club’s interest in a potential move advances.

Surely it can happen

It literally looks like the best possible scenario to me, at least in a Chelsea, Simons, and Nkunku sense, and then also Leipzig get their ready made replacement for Simons.

I think it would make a lot of sense, but lets see what happens here.
