UCF quarterback commitment Kane Archer continues to earn national recognition ahead of his senior season.

Archer, a standout at Greenwood High School in Arkansas, was officially named to the Rivals 2025 Preseason High School Football All-American Team, joining an elite group of the nation’s top high school players.

The honor comes as no surprise following a historic 2024 campaign. Archer completed a national-record 81.5 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,880 yards and 57 touchdowns with just two interceptions, while also rushing for 795 yards and 10 more scores. He led Greenwood to a second straight state championship and extended the program’s winning streak to 26 games.

“We’re going to have a challenge on our hands,” Archer said of the upcoming season. “We lost nine starters on defense last year and five on offense… but we’ll get it done.”

Archer, the reigning Arkansas Player of the Year, is focused on capping his high school career with a third consecutive title.

He also remains one of the most anticipated future Knights in years. UCF head coach Scott Frost and quarterbacks coach McKenzie Milton made him their top high school target shortly after their arrival. Archer committed in April, becoming the centerpiece of UCF’s 2025 recruiting class.

His game has drawn natural comparisons to Milton, who starred at UCF from 2016-18 and helped lead the Knights to a 23-0 record as a starter across the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

“Coach KZ says he recruited me because I play just like him,” Archer said. “We’re both kind of short but athletic. We can make the throws that need to be made. We’re smart. We got that dog in us. He feels I’m just like him and he would do the same things (offensively) that he did at UCF.”

Greenwood opens the season Friday, Aug. 29 vs. Bentonville West.
