Ange Postecoglou has swapped Spurs’ struggles for steak in Greece. The $8 million payout is already serving him well.
How Ange Postecoglou has decided to spend $8 million Tottenham sack payout originally appeared on The Sporting News
Ange Postecoglou’s time at Tottenham ended in June, but the Australian coach is not hiding away from the spotlight.
After his sacking, the 59-year-old reportedly received an $8 million payout from the club. And while most managers might take time to reflect, Postecoglou is already enjoying life off the touchline.
A recent video from the Greek island of Paros shows the former Spurs boss at high-end restaurant Sta Kala Kathoumena.
TikTok video shows celebrity chef Stefanos Saratsis prepared a steak in front of him, slicing it with precision before offering it straight from the knife.
Postecoglou nodded in approval — a reaction Spurs fans didn’t see much last season.
The clip has been viewed widely online, showing that ‘Aussie Ange’ is making the most of his free time. And with a Europa League trophy bonus of $4.2 million also in his pocket, he is far from short of options.

Reports (via Daily Mail) suggest he has turned down an approach from Saudi side Al-Ahli, while MLS side Los Angeles FC is said to be interested.
Why Ange Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham?
Despite winning the Europa League, Spurs’ league form was disastrous. They finished 17th, losing 22 games. Club chairman Daniel Levy admitted the decision was tough but necessary.
“Ultimately, the decision sits with me,” Levy said. “We couldn’t lose sight of the fact that we finished 17th in the league… it is impossible for Tottenham to be in that position.”
Thomas Frank has since replaced Postecoglou, but the Australian’s next move remains a talking point. Some believe he could land in Spain or France, while others see him returning to international football.
For now, Postecoglou seems happy swapping the dugout for fine dining. The man who once fought for points in the Premier League is now winning the battle for the best table in Greece.
If football is a game of two halves, Ange’s second half is off to a very tasty start.
