Max Granville came to Penn State from Sugar Land, Texas as a four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He appeared in seven games last year, making just one tackle against Maryland.

Granville was expected to become a breakout player at defensive end this season, but an injury he suffered earlier in the summer will likely keep him sidelined for most of the 2025 season, if not the whole season. The injury makes the depth at defensive end more vulnerable, but the Nittany Lions have no shortage of talent at the position.

Despite the setback, Granville has a bright future and serious potential to continue Penn State’s long lineage of edge rushers under James Franklin.

Only 18 more days to go until Penn State’s season opener against Nevada!
