SEC stadiums ranked by online reviews

SEC stadiums ranked by fan online reviews. Where did Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium land?

Earlier this summer, we ranked SEC gameday atmospheres. USA TODAY Sports ranked the top 25 stadiums in college football, too, several of which teams from the SEC call home. It's a group of stadiums that can vary in stadium capacity, but the SEC is home to some of the largest stadiums in college football.

This week, it was the public's turn. Using ratings from Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor, each of the 16 SEC teams' digs was ranked from highest to lowest. Few surprises dotted the list, especially at the top and bottom.

Alabama, the bluest of bluebloods in the SEC, ranked first in the combined list while Vanderbilt ranked last. Both make sense as Bryant-Denny Stadium, home to the Crimson Tide, has been packed for most of the last 25 years. Alabama has won six national championships since 2009, capturing its first of that run in then-coach Nick Saban's third year in Tuscaloosa. The Commodores, on the other hand, have a grand total of three winning seasons.

A moderate eye-opener? Texas' Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium ranked 13th out of the 16 venues. In fairness, the atmosphere ranked in the bottom half of our rankings earlier this summer. But part of the reason for the low placement could also be visiting antipathy toward the Longhorns. Non-Texas fans tend to be anti-Texas.

On the positive side was Mississippi State. Again, we rated Starkville's gameday atmosphere relatively high, but the stadium itself ranked eighth in the Google/Trip Advisor/Yelp ratings. While the city may lack a bit compared to its SEC brethren, Davis Wade Stadium is a fun, impressive joint, even for visitors.

Here's how the SEC ranked according to the ratings.
