Male NFL cheerleaders are on the rise in 2025.
There will be at least 12 NFL teams with male cheerleaders in 2025, which is up from seven in 2024. While some prestigious cheerleading teams like the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will not have male members - and might not ever - several teams around the league are choosing to incorporate male cheerleaders into their teams.
Unsurprisingly, given the state of social media in 2025, not everyone is a fan of that. While most male cheerleaders are getting a lot of support on social media, others are choosing to speak out.
The Minnesota Vikings recently named two male cheerleaders prominent members of the team in 2025. They ended up getting some hate on social media, many of which came from fellow males.
The male Minnesota Vikings cheerleader had a simple four-word message for his critics on social media, though.
Blaize Shiek, a male cheerleader for the Minnesota Vikings, had a four-word message for his critics on social media.
"See you at 3!" he wrote, referring to the start time of the Minnesota Vikings preseason game. He is going to continue to cheer as hard as he can for the Vikings, no matter what the critics say.
Many of the messages Blaize received were supportive, though there were some negative ones, as well.
"Grateful to be a packer fan," one fan wrote.
"Love this. Disappointed by the comments," one fan added.
"You mean, the men who cheer for a football team are upset about the men who are cheering for football and being paid for it? " another fan joked.
"I LOVE THE MEN WHO CHEER FOR FOOTBALL HATING THAT THERE’S MEN CHEERING FOR FOOTBALL. hahahahaha grow up. SKOL!!!" one fan added.
