As the NBA and its players navigate though the quiet of August largely out of view, former league star Allen Iverson has been busy outside of the sport. On Monday, Iverson shared a piece of personal news.

Allen Iverson's book tour will begin in New York and continue through New Jersey, Washington and Louisiana. His memoir is titled "Misunderstood."

Iverson, one of the most influential players in modern league history, detailed his journey in the NBA and hardships throughout his life in and out basketball.

Allen Iverson is widely known for his time with the Philadelphia 76ers. He played for the 76ers from 1996 to 2006 and 2009 to 2010.

Iverson also spent time with the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies during his NBA career. Iverson was named to 11 All-Star Games and won the league MVP award for the 2000-2001 season.
