It sounds like a particularly important roadblock could prevent WWE from moving John Cena‘s retirement match to go head-to-head with AEW Worlds End.

Earlier this week, it was reported that WWE was considering moving John Cena’s retirement match from December 13 to the 27 to go head-to-head with AEW’s World End pay-per-view. However, there might be something standing in the way of allowing this to happen.

On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio, NBC prefers to keep Cena’s retirement match on December 13 instead of the 27. With the main reason being that NBC has a contractual obligation to the NFL and will be airing an exclusive game on Peacock that night.

While the 27 is a current option, NBC would prefer not to compete with itself and would rather have Saturday Night’s Main Event stay where it is.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
