Brighton & Hove Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler says he is completely confident that Carlos Baleba will not be leaving the club this summer.

Manchester United are keen on signing the midfielder, who joined the Seagulls in 2023 from Lille.

But Hurzeler says the 21-year-old will likely play in their opening Premier League game against Fulham and does not believe he will be going anywhere.

Asked how confident he is that he will stay at the club, Hurzeler replied: “Very very very confident, that’s just my belief.”

On whether he has noticed any changes from Baleba amid the speculation, he said: “I didn’t see any change, he’s only changed his hair. I think that’s the change he’s made in the last two weeks.

“But overall he seems to be in a really good place, he’s enjoying it with his team-mates, he’s enjoying being a Brighton player.

“I didn’t see any big changes and he’s an option to start tomorrow”.
