Colorado’s coach Deion Sanders turned 58 on August 9 and spent the weekend doing what his family has turned into a recurring bit: updating his "Kids Power Rankings."

The birthday backdrop came amid a preseason debut for quarterback Shedeur Sanders with the Cleveland Browns and an NFL audition for safety Shilo Sanders with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On Sunday, August 10, Sanders posted a video on Instagram filmed by his eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr. (“Bucky”) and then went through his current order.

Speaking into the camera, Deion said, "He's the only son to go and take care of his brother and then come back and show love to his father. That's why you're the No. 1 son. That's right, I said it... Bucky is No. 1."

"After last night, Shedeur is No. 2. I mean, it's hard because Shilo plays tonight," Deion said. "I would say Deoindra is No. 3 because Snow's birthday is the same birthday that I have... Bossy's (Shelomi) upset, but she's No. 4, due to the numbering... and Shilo has yet to play, so he's No. 5."

One of the first to react to the post was "Bossy," also known as Shelomi Sanders, Deion's No. 4-ranked child, who commented, "ARE YOU SERIOUS."

The Tradition Behind the "Kids Power Rankings"

Sanders has been open about the "kids rankings" being a tongue-in-cheek staple.

He has joked with the media that lots of parents do it, he just does it publicly, and has updated the list at various points tied to performances, birthdays or family milestones.

The clip has become a signature Coach Prime social beat, sometimes landing in interviews and short videos as a recurring punchline that his kids also play into.

Shelomi has leaned into the gag as well, teasing her dad in July that she was "No. 1" after a workout and, separately, posting a tongue-in-cheek demand for justice when she lands at the bottom.

Who’s Who Among the Sanders Children

  • Deiondra: Eldest, born in 1992, a communications professional in sports management and reality-TV alum. She and musician Jacquees welcomed their son Snow on August 9, 2024, a date he now shares with his grandfather’s birthday.
  • Deion Sanders Jr. (Bucky): Born in 1993; former SMU wide receiver turned creative/media lead in the family orbit, including founding the Well Off brand. Often the cameraman and a frequent No. 1 in these lists.
  • Shilo: Born in 2000; former Colorado safety signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and currently battling for a roster spot in Todd Bowles’ defense.
  • Shedeur: Born in 2002; former Colorado quarterback drafted No. 144 overall (Round 5) by the Browns in 2025. Opened the preseason with 138 yards and two touchdowns on 14-of-23 passing against the Panthers on August 9.
  • Shelomi (“Bossy”): The youngest of the Sanders clan, born in 2003; Division I guard at Alabama A&M. Entering her senior year after averaging 1.2 points in 3.9 minutes per game last season.

The rankings are likely to change again. However, the family has made that part of the fun and the news cycle with each performance, birthday and behind-the-scenes moment nudging the order up or down.

For now, "Bucky" remains firmly entrenched at the No. 1 spot.
