Packers predicted to trade Pro Bowler, significant draft capital to Cowboys for Micah Parsons

Micah Parsons and the Cowboys still don't seem anywhere near reaching a deal. In this proposed deal, the Cowboys get a lot out of the young edge rusher.

The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons saga doesn’t seem to be going Jerry Jones’ way, which isn’t surprising given how he frustrated one of his top talents. In previous years, Jones successfully negotiated contracts without an agent, but now it seems that approach has backfired, derailing Parsons’ relationship with the team.

“The fact that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys believe they can negotiate a 9-figure extension with Micah Parsons without involving his agent says everything about the current state of the franchise. This entire situation is laughable from the Dallas side. It could’ve — and should’ve — been avoided. But instead, the Cowboys operated with pure arrogance, foolishness and stubbornness,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz posted.

After growing tired of the ongoing situation, Parsons requested a trade from the organization.

“Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally,” Parsons posted.

While Parsons was initially vocal about his contract troubles, he has since taken a new approach.

“My mouth is closed,” Parsons told reporters.

A potential trade has him heading to the Packers in exchange for Rashan Gary and three draft picks.

“It doesn't take a savant of football knowledge to illustrate how a player with Parsons' pedigree and physical traits playing at the top of his game is going to have a game-changing impact on the Packers' defense as a whole. That pass rush immediately goes from a weakness to a strength. Dallas, meanwhile, would get a player in Gary that could help mitigate the loss of Parsons while freeing up more playing time for standout rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku. The Cowboys would have more ammo to begin a proper rebuild, as Will McClay could put those picks to good use,” Lombardi Ave’s Mike Luciano wrote.

Parsons on the Packers’ defense would be exactly what they need this season to succeed. The defensive front has some questions heading into the season, but they look to be on the rise after recording nine sacks against the Colts during joint practice on Thursday. Parsons clearly seems frustrated with the Cowboys, and a change of scenery could be just what his young career needs.
