The Milwaukee Brewers have emerged as MLB’s best team. They are riding a 10-game winning streak and own the best record in baseball, 74–44.

The team’s pitching staff has been exceptional, posting a 3.61 ERA — third in MLB — despite playing without rookie sensation Jacob Misiorowski, who has been sidelined since Aug. 3 after suffering a left tibia contusion.

In seven starts for Milwaukee, the 23-year-old flamethrower has pitched to a 2.70 ERA with a 4–1 record, striking out 47 batters in just 33.1 innings.

Misiorowski also set an MLB record by becoming the first player in league history to be selected as an All-Star after appearing in only five career games. He surpassed Paul Skenes' mark (11) for fewest games played prior to the All-Star appearance.

Jacob Misiorowski Injury Update

Ahead of Tuesday’s series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Brewers announced an update on Misiorowski.

The team stated via MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy that he is scheduled for a 30-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday after having no issues following his previous live bullpen outing. He is expected to pitch on Friday, which could be either a rehab assignment or a shortened outing against Cincinnati Reds, according to manager Pat Murphy.

Misiorowski’s Return Would Solidify Brewers’ Playoff Push

This is great news for the Brewers. It appears Misiorowski is on track to return before the team’s playoff run. Milwaukee has a 6 1/2-game lead over the Chicago Cubs with not quite seven weeks remaining in the regular season. If the Brewers hang on, it would mark their fourth division title in the last five years.

Misiorowski would likely start one of the Brewers’ postseason games behind Freddy Peralta and Brandon Woodruff, forming one of the most intimidating potential divisional round rotations for opposing NL contenders.
