Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever have been dealing with the injury bug as of late, especially at the point guard position.

Without zero point guards available, including Caitlin Clark, in Saturday’s win over the Chicago Sky, Coach White slid Sophie Cunningham—normally a wing—into the starting point guard role.

Cunningham found success at the new position, tallying 16 points and two assists in the 22-point win.

But it was Kelsey Mitchell who impressed with her playmaking abilities the most, tallying a season-high eight assists.

Instead of keeping Cunningham at point guard, White opted to start Mitchell at the position in Tuesday’s matchup against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.

"Stephanie White says she will start the same lineup as Saturday's game, with Kelsey Mitchell starting at the 1," Indy Star's Chloe Peterson wrote on X. "Odyssey Sims, who joined the team on Sunday and is the Fever's only healthy natural point guard, will come off the bench to 'give us a lift.'"

With Clark (groin) still out and both Aari McDonald (foot) and Sydney Colson (knee) suffering season-ending injuries, the Fever had to find a true point guard.

Following the win over Chicago, they signed former Los Angeles Sparks guard Odyssey Sims, a former WNBA All-Star, to help fill that void.

In 12 games with the Sparks in 2025, Sims, 33, has proven she can still compete with the best, averaging 9.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

After the game against Dallas, the Fever will have two days off before their next game on Friday, hosting Sonia Citron and the Washington Mystics.
