The Bears had an uneven joint practice against the Buffalo Bills on Friday. Here were the players who stood out.
Chicago Bears training camp is in full swing ahead of the 2025 regular season. Under new head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears are preparing a return to relevancy with important practices and meetings at Halas Hall.
The starters, such as quarterback Caleb Williams, wide receivers Rome Odunze and DJ Moore, and defensive linemen Grady Jarrett and Montez Sweat, will hone their skills as they adjust to a new system. Rookies such as tight end Colston Loveland, receiver Luther Burden III, and tackle Ozzy Trapilo will look to hit the ground running ahead of their first season. And depth players like offensive lineman Doug Kramer, defensive end Dominique Robinson, and safety Jonathan Owens will try and hang on to a roster spot with competition nipping at their heels.
Following every Bears training camp practice, we at Bears Wire will highlight a select number of players who stood out during the day. Friday's practice welcomed the Buffalo Bills to Halas Hall, where a few Bears players stood out in front of the final day for fan attendance.
1. WR Olamide Zaccheaus
The connection between Williams and Odunze has been evident all week, but let's not forget another wide receiver who has consistently shown up throughout camp. Olamide Zaccheaus made yet another big play on Friday against the Bills' defense when he ran a crossing route and caught a pass in stride, taking it the distance for the score. CHSN's Alex Shapiro notes the play went for 55 yards in total. Former All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White was in coverage and didn't stand a chance. Zaccheaus does it all when he's on the field and has become a trusted option for Williams in the passing game.

2. S Jaquan Brisker
The Bears' defense showed up early against the Bills' starting offense, and safety Jaquan Brisker led the way. Brisker recorded two pass breakups during 7-on-7s against reigning MVP Josh Allen, nearly coming away with an interception on one of them, according to CHGO's Patrick Norton. Both targets were to tight end Dawson Knox. He had another breakup that resulted in an interception to Tremaine Edmunds, too. Brisker seems to shine the most when he's facing other teams in practice. He gave the Miami Dolphins fits last week and did the same to the Bills. Hopefully that trend continues, and he can have a big performance in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.

3 and 4. LBs Tremaine Edmunds and Ruben Hyppolite
Both the starting and reserve linebackers had a solid day against the Bills offense on Friday. Starting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds flashed for his old team when he picked off Allen in the red zone during 11-on-11s, which was his third pick of the day. Rookie Ruben Hyppolite also stood out for an interception of his own. He picked off backup Mike White, reading the pass the whole way, according to those in attendance. Both players have had moments of success, but Edmunds has had the strongest camp and could be in line for a bounce-back season in Dennis Allen's defense.
