Colston Loveland has already been crowned a fan favorite without playing a single regular-season game for the Chicago Bears.
Loveland had 56 catches for 582 yards and five touchdowns during his final year at Michigan, solidifying his status as one of the best tight ends in the country. Clearly, he impressed Chicago's front office. The Bears selected him with the No. 10 pick in this year's draft.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson compared Loveland to Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta, who he coached for two seasons.
"I do see a lot of comparisons to [Sam] LaPorta, but that's not just on the field, that was off the field as well, because with LaPorta the stage was never too big or too bright," Johnson said. "I felt that same thing with Colston the first time I met him. He doesn't bat an eye, he performs at a high level, and as we talk about where we're going as an organization, and we're going to be playing in these big games with the bright lights, we need guys that are going to rise up to the occasion. And he's going to do that for us."
Only time will tell if Loveland can produce at LaPorta's level. What we can say for certain is that he's got quite the personality.
Earlier this week, the Bears had their rookies perform skits on the latest episode of their documentary series "1920 Football Drive."
Loveland decided to sing Mario's "Let me Love You" in front of his teammates and coaches.
Let's just say Loveland crushed it.

NFL fans praised Loveland for being such a good sport.
"Yeah he definitely invited to the cookout," one fan said.
"110 catches, 1400 yards, 15 tds on deck," a second fan commented.
"He's going on my fantasy team," another fan said.
"Ok I wasn’t a fan of the pick but I might have to rethink my stance on bro now," a Bears fan wrote.
Loveland and the Bears will be on the field this Sunday to take on the Buffalo Bills.
We'll see if Loveland can back up his performance of "Let Me Love You" with a strong showing on the gridiron.
