The Philadelphia Phillies have been having a great season, sitting at the top of the NL East once again. However, they did have a scare the other night, with their newly acquired flamethrower closer Jhoan Duran getting carted off the field.

However, it’s not as bad as it seems. Duran has revealed he’s ok, and that he’s back to full strength.

Per the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Scott Lauber, Duran said he feels “100%” and wasn’t limping ahead of the second game of the series against the Washington Nationals.

In the game prior, Duran had taken a comebacker to his foot, and was able to run it to first base for the out. However, the pain set in, and he had to be carted off the field. It was revealed through x-rays that he had not broken anything, but the Phillies wanted to be extra careful.

Duran has been a great pickup for the Phillies, as since they traded for him at the deadline, he’s been a stud. This season, he has a 1.86 ERA, 56 strikeouts, and only 18 walks in 53 innings pitched. He also had a great WHIP, sitting at 1.106.

So it seems like all is well. Duran will continue to play for the Phillies, who can now breathe a sigh of relief. Duran will keep contributing, and hopefully help Philadelphia make it deep in the postseason.
