The family of NFL legend Ray Lewis is asking for prayers on Sunday evening, August 17.

Ray Lewis, 50, is one of the best players in NFL history. He helped lead the Baltimore Ravens to two Super Bowl wins. Lewis comes from a big family, with multiple siblings and several children. The Pro Football Hall of Famer has a total of six children: four boys and two girls.

Tragically, one of Ray Lewis's family members has died suddenly, at an age far too young. Prayers are now pouring in for the friends and family members of the former NFL star.

The family of the legendary NFL star Ray Lewis is asking for prayers, after former college football cornerback/safety turned coach Keyshawn Wilder passed away.

Wilder is the nephew of the former NFL star. His mother is Lewis's sister. The school announced the tragic news.

"It is with deep sadness that Shenandoah Athletics announces the passing of beloved former-student athlete and assistant football coach, Keyshawn Wilder. Wilder's dedication to the Shenandoah football team was profound both on and off the field. His hard work and compassion for the game translated directly to those around him, and his incredible leadership helped pave the way for new leaders to follow in his footsteps. 

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, teammates and the entire Shenandoah Football family during this difficult time. We stand with them in solidarity and prayer, and we pray for the strength to bear this very painful loss. May his soul rest in peace." 

Prayers are pouring in on Sunday night

"It breaks my heart to see this. He was one of my favorite entrepreneurship students. We would always talk about how his shoe business was doing. I would always encourage him to do well academically has he was doing on the football field. Praying ," one fan wrote.

"It speaks to how much the impact of one person’s life can bring love and positivity to so many. May Keyshawn’s life and example be an inspiration to us all to be the best we can be for others. Love and sympathy to all who knew and loved Keyshawn. Rest in peace Keyshawn…. " one fan added.

"Such heartbreaking news. Deepest condolences to Keyshawn’s family, girlfriend, friends, coaches, colleagues, and teammates. Thank you Keyshawn for always being a great friend to Matt Conroy and making such a positive impact on him and so many others on and off the field. May your memory be a blessing 🙏," one fan added.
