Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has been far more than an 8.9-points-per-game scorer this season.
She has brought a relentless intensity and what many would call a true dawg mentality. That was on full display in an early season meeting with the Connecticut Sun when she gained attention for standing up for Caitlin Clark after Jacy Sheldon and Marina Mabrey got into it with Clark.
She has been turning heads off the court as well. The 28-year-old hasn’t been shy in front of the camera. On Thursday, a poolside photo made the rounds on social media. In it, Cunningham wears a one-piece swimsuit with a tropical pattern in vibrant shades of orange, green, yellow and purple.

After one fan shared the photo that Cunningham herself reposted, other fans started sharing their reactions.

Sophie Cunningham's Basketball Journey
Cunningham is a 6-foot-1 guard who played her college basketball for the Missouri Tigers. After four seasons, she entered the WNBA Draft and was selected in the second round by the Phoenix Mercury.
She spent the first six seasons of her WNBA career in Phoenix. Her best year came in 2022 when she averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. The average points and rebounds were the best of her career.
She was traded from the Mercury to the Fever in a three-team offseason deal involving the Dallas Wings. Entering Friday night’s game against the Washington Mystics, she’s averaging 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season in addition to her 8.9 points.
