Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers have become two of the biggest stars in the WNBA. Clark has been dealing with injuries throughout her second season, but her rookie year was one for the ages, breaking numerous records both on and off the court. Bueckers, meantime, became the 10th rookie to be named an All-Star starter, averaging 18.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

Despite Bueckers' early success, the Wings have not had the best season, losing their 26th game after Sunday's 106-87 loss to the Las Vegas Aces. But that didn't stop the former UConn guard from breaking one of Clark's records.

Going into Sunday's loss, Bueckers had totaled 508 points and 146 assists through 27 games. With 8:36 remaining in the third quarter, Bueckers hit Luisa Geiselsoder for a 25-foot 3-pointer, marking her fourth assist of the day and 150th of her one-year career.

In doing so, Bueckers became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 500 or more points and 150 or more assists, achieving the feat in just 28 games.

Clark initially broke the record during the 2024 season, when she hit these marks in 29 games.

The next closest to Bueckers and Clark is former Houston Comets star Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, who reached these numbers in 33 games.

Comparing Clark and Bueckers' Rookie Seasons

While Bueckers has impressed in her lone WNBA season, her statistics don't really compare to Clark's rookie year. In 2024, the former Iowa guard averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists.

Last year, Clark also helped the Fever make the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016. Indiana finished with a 20-20 record, finishing the season with the No. 6 seed. They went on to lose to Stephanie White and the Connecticut Sun in two games, dismissing coach Christie Sides shortly after.

Sitting at 9-26 during Bueckers' first season, the Wings are far behind in the postseason race. With nine games remaining, the chances of Dallas making it are slim, but it hasn't been eliminated just yet.

In Sunday's loss to Las Vegas, Bueckers finished with 18 points on 8-of-18 shooting, five rebounds and four assists, bringing her season totals to 526 points and 150 assists.
