Fever Fans Bracing for Sophie Cunningham Injury News

This could be big.

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White did not have an update on Sophie Cunningham after their hard-fought overtime win against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. Cunningham was forced to exit the contest in the first half due to a leg injury and was unable to return. All White said during the postgame press conference was that the 6-foot-1 guard was going to have an MRI done on Monday.

Well, Monday has come and gone, and the Fever did not provide any update on Cunningham’s condition. It is unclear at this point if the team has gotten the results of the MRI on the 29-year-old’s right knee.

All this uncertainty has left Fever fans anxious. Supporters are bracing themselves for a development that could potentially have a significant impact on the season.

"I’m really hoping for good news. I’ve checked every form of news available about every 4 minutes today since 7am. I’m exhausted. lol," a comment on X read.

"Waiting on news for Sophie Cunningham she is an inspiration. Whether her season is over or not, keep shining bright Soph. You're tough, selfless, and the ultimate teammate. You stood up for what you believe in, on and OFF the court." stated another.

"I’m soooo nervous for her," admitted a user.

"Sophie Cunningham reposting her TikTok to her Instagram story is hopefully a sign that we are going to get some good news on her MRI🙏🏻. She seems positive," a reaction read.

"Let's hope we get good news. She was all smiles in the video we briefly saw of her after the win," another added.

"Sophie Cunningham is currently listed as day-to-day, scheduled to undergo an MRI today. Hopefully everything is okay🙏🏻🙏🏻" a fan wrote.

Until the Fever updates, Cunningham’s status for the next game—a home matchup against the league-best Minnesota Lynx on Friday—remains up in the air.
