Red Morgan enters his second season at Alabama looking for a breakout 2025 campaign.

A member of the Alabama Crimson Tide's 2024 recruiting class, Red Morgan is back for year two in Tuscaloosa this fall as a potential breakout candidate.

Now a sophomore, Morgan is a former in-state prospect who committed to Alabama out of high school, flipping his commitment from the Crimson Tide's Week 1 opponent, Florida State.

Morgan also saw a notable amount of action for the Crimson Tide a year ago as a true freshman, emerging in a role both defensively, as well as on special teams.

Morgan came to Alabama as a member of the Crimson Tide's 2024 recruiting class, ranked as the nation's No. 294 overall prospect, as well as No. 28 safety nationally, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. A four-star recruit who committed to the Crimson Tide in Aug. 2023 after flipping from Florida State, Morgan was also considered the No. 17 player in the state of Alabama out of Central-Phenix City High School.

Red Morgan 2025 season outlook

Morgan does likely not project as a starter for the Crimson Tide defense entering his sophomore season.

A player capable of seeing time at almost any spot in the secondary, Morgan was a natural safety coming out of high school, but emerged early last season at the husky position after a strong fall camp. Morgan could see action at that same spot this fall as well, while also potentially becoming a prominent member of the Crimson Tide's special teams unit.

Overall, expect Morgan to appear in all games for the Crimson Tide this fall, and for the sophomore to post a career-high in tackles.
