The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the New York Jets in Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season. It is the Buccaneers' first home game of the season, following road wins over the Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Texans.

The Tampa Bay franchise was founded in 1974 and played its first game in the NFL in 1976. The Buccaneers organization chose to bring back its 1976 jersey combination in 2025 to honor the milestone of their 50th anniversary. Tampa Bay chose Week 3 to wear them as it is the team's first home game of the season.

We have seen the Buccaneers wear throwback uniforms before, and most fans enjoy seeing the creamsicle tops. In Week 3, though, Tampa Bay will be wearing all white jerseys with the creamsicle accents and will feature their throwback logo.

Here is more on the Buccaneers' throwback jerseys that they are wearing in Week 3 against the Jets.

What are the Buccaneers' throwback uniforms?

Tampa Bay debuted in 1976 with all white uniforms. They had orange creamsicle accents and numbers, and featured an old school logo of the face of a stereotypical pirate, or buccaneer. The franchise has developed alternate jerseys featuring creamsicle tops, but the jerseys in Week 3 will be all white with creamsicle accents, just like in 1976.

Why are the Buccaneers wearing throwback uniforms?

An agreement was made to add an NFL franchise to Tampa Bay in 1974, and the organization played its first games in the league in 1976. The Buccaneers have now been around for five decades and are celebrating their 50th anniversary in the 2025-2026 season.

Have the Buccaneers ever worn throwback uniforms before?

The Buccaneers have worn orange creamsicle jerseys as an alternate. They use their old logo and invert the original color scheme with the jersey being cremsicle with white accents.

The all-white jerseys with creamsicle accents in Week 3 of the 2025 season are an exact replica of the jerseys the franchise wore in 1976, and Week 3 marks the first time that the organization has worn them since that inaugural season.

What is the Buccaneers record in their throwback uniforms?

Despite how great the players look rocking the creamsicle throwback, it hasn't led to success on the field. Tampa Bay is 1-5 since 2009 in their creamsicle jerseys.

The Buccaneers will have a chance to go 1-0 in their Week 3 throwbacks, though, as this marks the first time since the 1976 season that they have worn them.
