Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season was a special one.
Throughout the league, several special teams units made their presence felt with blocked kicks and punts that swayed games and were returned for touchdowns. Some of the outstanding plays stand out among the most memorable moments from the young season.
But the one that appears to be above all special teams plays is Jordan Davis' last-second return of a blocked field goal to secure the Philadelphia Eagles' 33-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Philadelphia, which came back from 21 points down, blocked two field goals in the win.

NFL blocked kicks today
Philly called game on a Jordan Davis FG block. He reaped the benefit of his efforts, picking up the return and electing to run it in for six, rather than dropping down to end the game.
The result was the first touchdown of Davis' NFL career.

In Tampa Bay, the New York Jets made things interesting with one of the more impressive plays you'll see in an NFL game.
Will McDonald Jr. jumped over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive line, blocked the field goal attempt, and returned it for a touchdown to briefly give his team a one-point lead with under two minutes remaining in the game.

Impressive as McDonald's play was, the Buccaneers. pushed back down the field and avoided any hiccups as they earned a 29-27 win on a game-winning field goal as time expired.
And while Tampa got the win, head coach Todd Bowles was none too happy with the block, saying, "Excuse my language, but you gotta f—king be s—tting me. Then, after that, we see how much time’s on the clock, calm down and win the game."
The attitude rubbed off on his winning team.
In the Pacific Northwest, the Seattle Seahawks joined in on the party with a punt return touchdown to take an early 14-0 lead over the New Orleans Saints in the first quarter.
