The Baltimore Ravens are once again without tight end Isaiah Likely for the Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions.
Likely suffered a broken foot in training camp and had surgery to repair the issue, which has led to his three-game absence to begin the season.
However, the former fourth-round pick's return appears to be imminent as he continues to work his way back from the injury.
Here's the latest update on Likely's status moving forward.
Isaiah Likely injury update
The Coastal Carolina practiced for the first time this season in the lead up to the Week 2 game, but was ultimately ruled out. Likely then turned in three limited sessions this past week, which signals that he's very close to suiting up.
When asked about when he's going to make his debut, Likely had a two-word answer: "Very soon."
On the flip side, Likely also said he isn't rushing back, especially considering the Ravens' offense is operating just fine without him.
"You always want to look at the long game," he said. "In this league, it's a turtle's race. Understand that January's so far away. We just put up 40-plus points back-to-back [weeks]. The offense is well capable to be themselves whether I'm on or off the field. They're not rushing me back. Me [being] limited isn't helping anybody. You guys want to see me be me."
Isaiah Likely return timeline
Based on the fact that Likely wasn't placed on injured reserve to start the season, it's clear the Ravens were hopeful he'd be back by Week 4.
By the looks of his progress over the past two weeks, it's fair to assume he'll be ready to go for game versus the Kansas City Chiefs, barring any setbacks.
If not, Likely will almost certainly be back by Week 5, when Baltimore takes on the Houston Texans.
