The oddsmakers do not seem convinced either team will win as the Dolphins host the Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 4.
The Week 4 Monday Night Football matchup will feature two 0-3 teams trying to win their first game of the year by defeating their AFC East division rivals. The Miami Dolphins host the New York Jets in one week, and the oddsmakers do not seem sure about how this game will play out.
Both teams head into this primetime showdown with more questions than answers. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has not looked as sharp as expected, and the Miami offense has struggled to find its rhythm for much of the season. The team did look better against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, able to compete until late in the game and look more like a functioning team than what they did in the first two weeks of the season.
The Jets went down to the last second against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, dropping the game on a game-winning field goal from the Buccaneers. The Jets had rallied back from a 23-6 deficit in the third quarter to take a 27-26 lead, but could not hold on to win in the end.
The oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have released their opening odds for Week 4 and they do not seem convinced about either team’s chances in this game. Despite Miami being the home team, they are only favored by 2.5 points, less than the usual three-point spread given to home teams. On the moneyline, Miami is -156 for the straight-up win while New York is +132. The point total is set at 44.5.
Injury news and updates throughout the week will impact the line, but for now, Miami is a slight favorite for the Monday night game.
