Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman on track to be the loser of recent trade

One of Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman's most recent trades was the one with the Las Vegas Raiders for cornerback Jakorian Bennett. It's still early, but Roseman is on track to be the loser in that deal.

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is notorious for being aggressive when it comes to trades.

And, not only does Roseman make a lot of trades, he often gets the better of those deals, also, something we've seen time and time again over the years.

However, one of his most recent trades is not panning out so far.

That trade was the one with the Las Vegas Raiders that saw the Eagles give up defensive lineman Thomas Booker for cornerback Jakorian Bennett.

Bennett had a breakout year in 2024 after a putrid rookie season, but availability was an issue for him, as he missed seven games due to a shoulder injury that had plagued him since college.

The former fourth-round pick appeared in all three games for the Eagles so far this season, but he only played 24 snaps. Now, Bennett has landed on injured reserve, knocking him out for the next four games at least.

Meanwhile, Booker has thrived in Las Vegas. After earning a starting job, Booker is playing good football for the Raiders.

He has seven hurries, which ranks sixth among interior defensive linemen, and he has eight pressures overall. Booker also owns the second-highest pass-rush grade on the Raiders thus far.

"He's a pro's pro. He came in with a smile on his face, willing to learn, put in the time, and he has an element of toughness too to him in practice," defensive coordinator Patrick Graham said of Booker.

"We saw that the physicality was there. He's very strong and stood out pretty quickly. But he's a pleasure to be around, I like talking to him, I like talking to him during the game. It's been interesting there. He's a Stanford guy," Graham added.

Now, nobody is saying Booker is becoming a star or anything like that, but he has been a strong contributor for the Raiders. We cannot say the same for Bennett.

Admittedly, it's too early to proclaim the Raiders the winner of this trade, but it's certainly fair to argue that it isn't looking good for Roseman and the Eagles.
