The Noles dropped the ball.

Thanks a lot, Florida State.
In what appeared to be a lead-pipe lock for another ESPN College Gameday appearance for the Miami Hurricanes, those plans were apparently scrapped after Florida State’s loss on Friday night at Virginia. Instead, the show announced on Sunday morning that they are heading to Tuscaloosa for the Crimson Tide’s matchup with Vanderbilt.
I mean, alright, I guess. Alabama just defeated Georgia (which is what they do) in Athens to likely move back inside the top 10 after their season-opening loss to those same Noles on August 30. Vanderbilt is looking the part of a good team, rolling up just about everybody they play. So, it could actually be an interesting game on Saturday. And with Vandy beating the Tide in Nashville last year with Diego Pavia having a coming out party, there will be interest in Alabama getting revenge.
But, come on, man. This is Miami vs. FSU. One of the greatest rivalries in the sport that looked like a top 10 battle coming into last week. Even at 4-0 vs. 3-1, with these two exciting teams, it seemed like it should have still gotten the nod in a game that will likely still have a major impact on the ACC race.
But apparently that wasn’t enough, and now, the popular pregame show will make its umpteenth trip in the 21st century to the SEC powerhouse instead. Is it the end all, be all? No, but it’s always nice to get some extra publicity for your program, particularly for exposure and recruiting. And adding a little extra flair to the game weekend is fun.
Oh well. Another reason to poke fun at Florida State fans as the Canes’ true hate week begins.
