‘I didn’t like the end of the game’ – Jules Kounde critical of Barcelona after Real Sociedad win

The defender felt the intensity dropped

Jules Kounde was critical of the way Barcelona finished Sunday’s match against Real Sociedad despite winning 2-1 to move to the top of the table.

The Frenchman scored Barcelona’s equaliser, with the hosts going on to win courtesy of a Robert Lewandowski header.

Kounde spoke to the media after the game and felt his team were lacking in the last 25 minutes of the match at Montjuic.

“I didn’t like our last 25 minutes. We struggled too much and didn’t have control of the ball. The previous 70 minutes were pretty good, and we had chances to score more than two goals. I didn’t like the end of the game,” he said.

“We lacked intensity, defensiveness, and closing down the inside pass, which already killed us on the goal. In the last 25 minutes, they found that inside pass very easy for us. We made the game difficult for ourselves.

“I think we’ve been doing well offensively and defensively from set pieces for quite some time. This year, with the addition of Rashford and Roony, we’ve added two good takers.

“I’m very happy for Lamine’s return because we’re going to need him.”

Barcelona’s win makes it six out of seven in La Liga and continues the team’s unbeaten start to the new campaign. Next up it’s a vist from Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
