CAF Champions League: JSK crushes Bibiani and advances to the second round!

JS Kabylie confirmed its status in the African Champions League. Already victorious in the first leg against Ghana’s Bibiani Gold Star (2-0), Zinnbauer’s men put on a real show for the crowd at Hocine Aït Ahmed stadium, cruising to a commanding 5-0 win in the return fixture. Akhrib opened the scoring in the 7th minute before veteran captain Ryad Boudebouz converted a penalty to widen the gap. The Canaries then took complete control, leaving their opponents unable to cope with the Kabyle onslaught.

After the break, JSK’s dominance turned into a full-blown exhibition. Reduced to ten men following Ankrah’s dismissal, the Ghanaians collapsed under wave after wave of green-and-yellow attacks. Merghem netted the third before Akhrib grabbed his brace. Late in the match, young Malki capped off the spectacle, sealing a resounding Algerian triumph.

A showdown with Monastir awaits

With a 7-0 aggregate scoreline, JSK left no room for doubt and marches into the second round of the competition. Their next opponent will be a different caliber altogether: Tunisia’s US Monastir, who swept aside Sierra Leone’s East End Lions (7-1 on aggregate). This North African derby promises fireworks, as both sides have shown tremendous solidity and attacking power.

Buoyed by the electric atmosphere in Tizi Ouzou and a renewed sense of confidence, JSK now dreams of making a major continental breakthrough. The objective is clear: to reassert themselves as a powerhouse of African football.
