And now, we wait…
The regular season has concluded, the playoff field is set and now we can hold these two truths to be self evident:
The Mets will not be in the playoffs.
The Astros will not be in the playoffs.
Both of these are glorious things that have happened. Both of them are things we can revel in with the Phillies looking forward to next Saturday where they will await the winner of the Dodgers and the Reds. It’s been a great run.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- You wouldn’t be a Phillies fan if you didn’t have some unanswered questions about the team as they enter the playoff rounds.
- Trea Turner won the batting title for the National League while Kyle Schwarber takes home the home run crown.
- Ranger Suarez is fine after taking a ball to the inner thigh muscle.
MLB news:
- It’s never too early to preview the entire MLB playoffs, so here is their first go at it.
- The Mets lost their spot in the playoffs thanks to a pathetic showing, and now they’re going to lose their first baseman to free agency.
- The Astros also choked and missed the playoffs, and now they’re “evaluating” everything about their organization, including the manager.
