It is official. Barcelona midfield wonderkid Marc Bernal has signed his new contract which will keep him tied down to the club until the summer of 2029.
“FC Barcelona and the player Marc Bernal have reached an agreement for the extension of the player’s contract until June 2029,” the club statement read.
“The signing took place on Monday morning at the Club Offices with the Barça president Joan Laporta, first vice president Rafael Yuste and director of the Football Area Deco all present.”
Bernal is regarded as one of the finest young talents to have come through La Masia in recent years. The youngster made his first-team breakthrough last season after impressing Hansi Flick in pre-season.

However, just three games into the campaign, an ACL injury sidelined the young midfielder for over a year.
Soon after the injury though Barcelona reached an agreement to extend his contract until 2029 once he turned 18 years old. And the renewal has now been signed officially, earlier today.
Bernal made his comeback after the injury layoff earlier this month against Valencia, featuring for less than ten minutes.
No risks are being taken with him though and with time he is expected to have a much bigger role in Flick’s plans at Barcelona.
