The Titans' offense is struggling, and there are a couple of suggestions that could potentially get them going this season.

The Tennessee Titans fell to the Houston Texans 26-0, marking the first time since October 19, 2019, when they lost to the Denver Broncos 16-0, that the Titans failed to score. The game offensively was a struggle for Tennessee, as they did not reach the redzone the entire game.

Β The question now is, how ugly does it have to get? The Texans doubled the Titans in first downs and in total yardage while dominating time of possession. So, what can be done to address this offense that has been unable to find its footing? Cameron Ward did not have the answers, but stated one thing they need to do better.

"We are not doing our job. As a unit, we are not doing our job. And at some point, it's gotta change. I hope it changes next week. We are gonna try to change it next week. That needs to be the message. We have to change it one play at a time."

Cameron is correct, but how does that get done? Here are a couple of things that can help lead the offense in the right direction.

The first step is to find something the offense can lean on. One of those things has to be the running game, particularly with Tony Pollard. He had 14 carries for 64 yards and has generally been solid for most of the games. The Titans gave him the football consistently in this game versus the Texans to start. But as the game situations dictated, they could not give him the football on down and distances that were not manageable, resulting in unpredictable results.

Once an identity is found in what the Titans can do consistently, there must be consistency in the quick game, particularly in the passing game. Between Cameron holding the football, the offensive line not holding up, and receivers not getting open or dropping the ball, the offense's timing has been off, which isn't good for an offense trying to find its footing with a rookie quarterback. The more the timing is in sync, the better the offense will perform. However, if the timing remains poor, this offense will continue to appear choppy.

The Titans have some work to do, and it's evident with the product on the field. Can this team make these corrections and determine what needs to be done to put a more competitive product on the field offensively? We shall see. However, one thing is certain: the offense must improve if the Titans have any chance of winning games.
