This is the first time this season the Giants will enter a game as the favorite
The New York Giants are riding into Week 5 with some momentum after earning their first win of the season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Now they will try to stack victories as they travel south to take on the New Orleans Saints.
Oddsmakers have installed the Giants as a 1-point favorite on the road, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Saints (0-4) are still searching for their first win of the year under head coach Kellen Moore. Quarterback Spencer Rattler, meanwhile, remains winless as a pro after starting his career 0-10.
Where things stand
The Giants showed signs of life in a 21-18 victory, with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart delivering his first career touchdown run and pass sparking the offense. Darius Slayton also shook off his early-season struggles with multiple key catches, while the defense forced a pair of turnovers to help seal the win.
The Saints, meanwhile, have stumbled badly to start the year. Their latest loss came in Buffalo, where Josh Allen and the Bills won by two scores. Moore’s group has struggled on both sides of the ball, ranking near the bottom of the league in scoring and pass defense.
What it means for the Giants
A win would move New York to 2-3 and keep them within striking distance in the NFC East. Brian Daboll’s squad finally has momentum, and another step forward on offense could be enough to hand the Saints their fifth straight loss.
Kickoff is set for Sunday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
