The managers of Spanish football’s two biggest clubs have officially missed out on the award for La Liga Manager of the Month.
This comes after the prize instead went the way of Eder Sarabia.
Sarabia’s Elche are of course in the midst of nothing short of a superb start to the 2025/26 campaign.
One of just two clubs still boasting an undefeated record, the Franjiverdes have taken to life back in Spain’s top-flight like ducks to water.
As things stand, Elche sit in a dizzying 4th place in the La Liga table.
Such efforts gave rise to head coach Eder Sarabia being altogether deservedly nominated for the Manager of the Month award for September.
The former attacker faced stiff competition in his bidding for the prize, up against Hansi Flick and Xabi Alonso of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
As alluded to above, though, Sarabia has on Monday won out.
As per a statement across La Liga’s official social media platforms, the 44-year-old has officially been named Manager of the Month:
🏅 A crazy unbeaten streak with @Elchecf_en!
