Who some of District 10's top performers are for the week of Sept. 29 through Oct. 4

The Erie Times-News is compiling a list of notable performances by District 10's athletes for the week of Sept. 29 through Oct. 4.

Each week during the PIAA's fall sports season, the Erie Times-News will compile lists of notable performances by District 10's athletes.

Fans can submit suggestions for those lists. They can do so by sending the name of the athlete, plus their achievement during that specific week, to [email protected].

This week's top performers are:

Boys golf

Luke Ferry, Meadville: His 4-under par 68 not only helped the Bulldogs win District 10’s Class 3A team tournament, but was the lowest of any male or female golfer involved in the one-round competition at The Country Club of Meadville.

Joseph Prichard, Cathedral Prep

Joseph Prichard, Cathedral Prep: The sophomore’s round of 1-under par 71 highlighted the Ramblers’ one-stroke victory over the rival Fairview Tigers for first place in District 10’s Class 2A team tournament.

Girls golf

Genelia Kang, McDowell: Her round of 81 was the lowest for the Trojans when they defended as champions of District 10’s Class 3A team tournament at The Country Club of Meadville.

Kate Sowers, West Middlesex: The James Madison University recruit shot a 2-under par 70, which led the Big Reds to a one-stroke victory over the Fairview Tigers in District 10’s Class 2A team tournament.

Boys soccer

Jake Schreiner, Fort LeBoeuf: He scored for the Bison when they beat the Iroquois Braves 2-1.

Blake White, Conneaut (Pennsylvania): His two goals highlighted the offense for the Eagles when they defeated Crawford County Christian 3-2.

Girls soccer

Grace Faulkner, McDowell: She scored twice and assisted once for the Trojans, who shut out Harbor Creek 3-0.

Peyton Rodgers, Cathedral Prep: Her overtime goal doubled as the only offense for the Ramblers’ dramatic 1-0 win at Fort LeBoeuf.

Aubrey Cambra, Girard: She scored one goal and assisted on another for the YellowJackets when beat the Erie High Royals 5-0.

Ava Bunce, Mercyhurst Prep: Her two goals helped the Lakers defeat Iroquois 6-0.

Ella Martz, Maplewood: She scored with 25 seconds left in the overtime period of the Tigers’ 2-1 victory vs. the Cambridge Springs Blue Devils.

Avianna Culver, General McLane: Her one-goal, two-assist performance stood out for the Lancers when they defeated Fairview 5-0.

Brenna Kuhl, Seneca: Her hat trick highlighted the Bobcats’ 7-1 win over the Eisenhower Knights.

Aalysha George, North East: She scored or assisted on each of the goals during the Grapepickers’ 3-0 shutout of the Conneaut (Pennsylvania) Eagles.

Giada Toscano, Wilmington: Her hat trick, plus an assist, dominated the offense when the Greyhounds beat the Hickory Hornets 4-2.

Girls volleyball

Brianna Masterson, Harbor Creek: She totaled nine kills and five blocked shots for the Huskies when they swept the rival Iroquois Braves.

Adison Novad, Slippery Rock: Her 13 kills highlighted the offense for the Rockets, who beat the Lakeview Sailors in three sets.

Oliva Faust, Rocky Grove: She totaled 12 kills and nine assists for the Orioles, who swept the Reynolds Raiders.

Maree Russo, McDowell: She assisted on 28 points for the Trojans during their three-set sweep of the Saegertown Panthers.

Girls tennis

Amelia Jackson, Grove City: Her straight-sets victory in the No. 1 singles match also helped the Eagles beat Sharon 4-1 in a Region 1 dual.

Julia Missory, Hickory: She won 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles for the Hornets, who blanked the host Wilmington Greyhounds.
