A pair of Pittsburg State Football athletes have been tabbed with MIAA Player of the Week honors following big performances against Emporia State over the weekend. See the details below.
KANSAS CITY, MO. — Pittsburg State Football’s Cleo Chandler Jr. and Jaylen Fuksa have both earned MIAA Player of the Week honors following big performances in a win over Emporia State.
Chandler Jr, a redshirt senior running back, was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week after setting a career-high with 169 rushing yards and 2 TDs in Saturday’s win including a breakaway 68-yard score.
Fuksa on the other hand was tabbed MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week. The redshirt senior return specialist returned three kickoffs against the Hornets for an average of 41.7 yards per return including a 57-yard return.
On top of his big game against Emporia State, Fuksa leads the MIAA in kickoff return average (24.3 YPR) this season.
