Will Tyreek Hill ever be the same after his latest injury?
Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill’s career called into question after devastating knee injury originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Miami Dolphins may have picked up their first victory of the season against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, but they suffered an incredible loss in Tyreek Hill.
With the Dolphins up 10-3 in the third quarter, Hill went down with a nasty injury to his left leg and was immediately taken to a local hospital. Early Tuesday, the former All-Pro receiver was diagnosed with a dislocated knee and multiple ligament tears, including his ACL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hill will miss the rest of this season, but his career could also be in jeopardy, according to CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr.
“There is a chance Hill could return after his gruesome knee injury in the Dolphins’ win over the Jets, but the process of getting back to this level of play is going to be extremely long,” Kerr wrote. “Watching Hill on the ground was difficult, especially for a player who has been dominant catching the deep ball for over a decade.”
Hill, 31, had already begun to show signs of decline. Last season he finished with fewer than 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in four years. This season, he totaled just 265 yards and one touchdown before the injury.
The question now is whether Hill will ever see the field again. Houston Texans wideout Tank Dell suffered a similar injury last December against Hill’s former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and still has not returned.
“Hill may not be the same player when he comes back, but it will be impressive if he does,” Kerr added.
Dell, who turns 25 on October 29, is younger than Hill and has played only two NFL seasons compared to Hill’s decade. That makes it difficult to truly compare their situations.
The bottom line: Hill faces a long recovery that could ultimately reshape, or even end, his career.
