‘Pedri is undoubtedly Harry Potter’ – Luis Enrique hopes Barcelona star forgets his magic wand against PSG

The PSG boss knows the threat he possesses

Pedri has been in stunning form for Barcelona this season and has come in for huge praise from Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie.

The Spain star has been dubbed ‘Pedri Potter’ by fans due to his brilliant skills, and Lucho is in no doubt at all that Barcelona’s midfielder is a bona fide magician.

“I think Pedri knows me very well, he knows very well what we were doing in the national team. For me, Pedri is undoubtedly Harry Potter. And I hope he doesn’t bring his magic wand tomorrow,” he told reporters.

“We’ll do our best to keep him involved as little as possible. But he will participate because Barça isn’t just him, it’s also Frenkie De Jong in midfield, it’s Cubarsi at the back and it’s Lamine Yamal… It’s a whole series of top-level players.

“But the match presents a special motivation. It’s difficult to win against a team that is very good at controlling the ball. They had very good results last year and they’re having a good season this year.”

Barcelona will of course look to Pedri for inspiration, while Lamine Yamal may also be a difference-maker after making an instant impact on his return from injury against Real Sociedad.
