Even in defeat, Ferran Torres continued to show why he is one of Barcelona’s key attacking players.

The forward scored his fifth goal of the season, proving he deserves the starting role under Hansi Flick.

Speaking after the match, he admitted that Barça lost control in the second half, but remained optimistic about the team’s potential.

“The game went crazy. We weren’t able to regain control where we wanted it to be. We’re having a lot of games, which isn’t an excuse, but we have to focus on the weekend,” Ferran said.

He also addressed whether he felt Barcelona were inferior to PSG. “I don’t think we’re behind.

“I think the first half hour was spectacular, but we didn’t know how to maintain it. I’m sure that as time goes on, we’ll maintain it.”

The forward concluded with a message of calm, urging the team and fans not to overreact after their first loss of the season.

“At the end of the season, there will be defeats, but we shouldn’t overreact. Now it’s time to look at what we did wrong and correct the mistakes.”

Gerard Martin acknowledges PSG’s dominance

He admitted that PSG dominated the match once they fell behind, and the team lost control of the game.

“I think we started the game well, but in the second half, they imposed their game on us. We lost control and lost some easy balls.

“It’s normal for a team like that to end up scoring goals. My self-criticism is that we didn’t play the way we wanted and they imposed their pace on us.”

Martin also addressed a key incident in the second half, when Barcelona called for a second yellow card for Nuno Mendes for a challenge on Lamine Yamal.

“The truth is, it caught me on the wrong side of the fence. I asked the fourth official, and he told me it was Fabian’s foul.”

He concluded with a positive outlook, stressing that it is better to face such challenges now rather than later in the season.

“In the end, it’s better for it to happen now so we can correct it for the playoffs and future matches.

“We have to demand much more of ourselves against a team like this. We weren’t able to show it today, but I’m sure we’ll have the opportunity to do so later,” he said.
