Ecuador are considering whether or not to call up Moises Caicedo for the upcoming international break after Enzo Maresca said he was in physical discomfort.
Caicedo has started every game this season other than the Carabao Cup tie against Lincoln, and is arguably Chelsea’s most important player.
The Ecuador international has once again been in superb form, and was named as Chelsea’s Player of the Month for September.
Ecuador considering whether to call up Moises Caicedo
Caicedo has been a bright spark for the Blues in what has been a disappointing start to the season, with Enzo Maresca’s men taking just eight points from a possible 18.
As expected after their exploits at the Club World Cup, Chelsea are dealing with a number of injury issues, with eight players set to miss Saturday’s game against Liverpool.

It had been reported Caicedo has been playing through the pain barrier this season along with Enzo Fernandez and Joao Pedro.
Chelsea will be hoping he gets through the Liverpool game unscathed, given Dario Essugo who was signed as his back-up isn’t expected to return from injury until the new year.
With that in mind Ecuador boss Sebastián Beccacece suggested he’s considering whether to call Caicedo up for the upcoming friendlies against Mexico and the USA.
“About Moisés, his coach (Enzo Maresca at Chelsea) said he’s injured,” he said as quoted by Ecuadorian publication Ole.
“He’s not well, but he’s so ambitious and committed that he always wants to perform like he did against Argentina.
“We’re reconsidering whether he’ll be included in the squad; I’d say more than not, yes.”
Romeo Lavia fit to play again
Whilst Fernandez and Caicedo have been playing through the pain barrier, Chelsea have received a welcome boost with Romeo Lavia fit to play again.
