According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich's youth academy managers had been regularly inquiring about Can Uzun since the U12s.

The Regensburg native trained at 1.FC Nuremberg and made the breakthrough at the Franconian club at a very young age.

But despite several talks, a transfer to Bayern never materialized in the end for the Turkish star who now represents Eintracht Frankfurt.

Uzun, listed as the greatest attacking talent of the 2005 generation alongside Paul Wanner, repeatedly turned down the Bavarians.

It's believed he wanted to stay with his family in Regensburg and finish his schooling there, rather than move to Bayern's boarding school.

After completing his education, Frankfurt won the tug-of-war for Uzun in the summer of 2024 paying an estimated €11million.

Now, just over a year later, the attacker with his strong dribbling and finishing skills is one of the rising stars in Dino Toppmöller's young team.
