NORTHEAST KANSAS (KSNT) – This week’s episode of K-Nation focuses on KU football’s hard-fought win over UCF, K-State’s heartbreaking loss to Baylor and the first ‘Sunflower Showdown’ of the season.

• Kansas’ offense kicked in to high-gear in the second half, helping the Jayhawks grab a 27-20 win
• Leshon Williams had a big night for the ‘Hawks, scoring a career-high three touchdowns
• A strong defensive showing by KU in the second half was essential in getting the win
• The K-State Wildcats suffered another heartbreaking loss, 35-34, to drop to 2-4 on the season
• Jayce Brown was a major player for the ‘Cats in Saturday’s game, but a controversial facemask penalty committed by Baylor and a blocked kick kept K-State out of the win column
• The Wildcats have a challenging road ahead, taking on TCU at home, Kansas in Lawrence and Texas Tech at home
• KU soccer fell 2-0 to the Red Raiders in Lubbock
• K-State soccer ended in a 0-0 draw at UCF in Orlando
• KU volleyball went 1-1 on their recent roadtrip, with a 1-3 loss to No. 12 TCU and a 3-2 win over Baylor
• K-State volleyball went 2-0 on the road, while multiple players set career-highs
• KU men’s golf finished tied for 6th at the Windon Memorial Classic, finishing 16 under par
• Kansas women’s golf will host the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitation Monday through Tuesday, from the Lawrence Country Club
• Both K-State men’s and women’s golf finished in 4th at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas
• Jayhawk softball continues with its fall scrimmage slate, defeating Rockhurst University 5-0
• Wildcat tennis’ Diana Smolinska and Margaret Jaraczewski both scored wins in the singles competition at the Cyclone Invitational
• The Jayhawks were victorious in the Sunflower Showdown on the pitch, 4-1
