Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy three-star safety Khmari Bing has decommitted from Maryland, striking a blow to the Terrapins’ 2026 class.

The local standout has been committed for more than a year, dating back to August 2024. But in that time, multiple new school have come into the picture of his recruitment. Both Alabama and Ohio State extended him offers in recent months, and he is fresh off an official visit to Columbus over the weekend.

“Each school offers great opportunities to grow on and off the field,” Bing told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong over the weekend. “Ohio State stands out because of the development, coaching, and exposure you get there. It’s the kind of place that sets you up for success in football and in life.”

Alabama is currently scheduled to have him on its campus for an official visit the weekend of November 8. The Tide host LSU that weekend. Bing received an offer from ‘Bama in August after a standout performance on ESPN with his nationally ranked St. Frances squad.

“It was the first time I’ve heard from Alabama,” he told BamaOnLine last month. “He said he liked me. He said I looked very natural on the field, I’m a ball player and I’m always around the ball. He wants me to come down and be one of the next guys at ‘Bama with Jireh (Edwards).”

Interest continues to grow in Bing

He is very familiar with the program and its success under Nick Saban and now Kalen DeBoer.

“I watched Alabama every time they were on TV growing up,” Bing added. “I always saw them winning national championships. I thought that could be me one day.”

The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder is teammates with Crimson Tide five-star safety commit Jireh Edwards, who no doubt would like to team up with him at the next level.

Bing is the No. 904 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 89 safety and No. 22 player in Maryland.
