A man has been charged with theft after shirts went missing from a football merchandise shop.

On the Stall City, which operates in The Forum, in Norwich, said about seven Norwich City shirts disappeared in August.

The shop donates its profits to Norwich City's charity, The Community Sports Foundation.

Norfolk Police said Marcus Barnes, 33, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of theft from a shop and was due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on 4 November.

He is accused of taking items between 5 and 7 August, worth £280, and has been released on police bail with conditions.

The shop sells a variety of football kits, branded leisure and training wear.

It says it has since reviewed and improved its security, including removing signs so staff can see around the shop more easily.
