Former Carolina Hurricanes forward Jack Roslovic signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.
Roslovic spent the entirety of the offseason and training camp unsigned before ultimately deciding to join the Oilers.
“The type of player, looking at our team, that we’d be wanting to look for around the trade deadline would be this type of a player — exactly,” Oilers general manager Stan Bowman said. “He’s available now, and he’s a free agent. We could get him signed at a low amount. There were a lot of things that worked in our favor.
“Instead of waiting to see what was available, we think he could be a really nice piece to our group right now.”
The 28-year-old forward signed a one-year, $2.8 million contract with the Hurricanes last year, as he had a productive season in Carolina, recording 22 goals, 17 assists, and 39 points in 81 games while averaging 13:49 minutes.
