With the international break currently underway, Real Madrid stand on top of the La Liga standings and have been the team to beat in the competition.
Xabi Alonso’s side have looked on song for the greater part of the season, and barring a rare off night against Atletico Madrid, have not dropped any points across competitions.
One of the biggest reasons for their success, without a shadow of doubt, has been the impressive form of Kylian Mbappe who has been scoring goals at will and leading the team’s attack.
A historic start
So far this season, Mbappe has scored 14 goals for Real Madrid in just ten games, tallying nine in La Liga and another five in two UEFA Champions League games.
As relayed by Mundo Deportivo, this is the best ever start to a season in Mbappe’s career, for he has never reached such a tally of goals after the first ten games of any season in the past.

The 26-year-old superstar’s highest before this season was the campaign of 2018/19 when he racked up twelve goals in ten games, while he also scored 11 goals in as many games in the 2022/23 season.
Mbappe has found the back of the net in nine of Real Madrid’s ten games so far and has scored in seven straight games.
The only fixture in which he did not score was in the team’s 2-1 win over Mallorca where he had an early goal disallowed by VAR.
Last season, Mbappe scored seven times in the first ten games and went on to win the Pichichi trophy in his first season at Real Madrid. With his output at an even higher level this time around, there is reason to be optimistic that he will sweep the award once more.
