WATCH: Carl Junction falls to Branson in a close battle on the road
BRANSON, MO — The Carl Junction Bulldogs fell in a close road battle versus the Branson Pirates that came down to the wire ending in a 35-32 Branson finish.
On the opening drive, Branson’s Blake Webber took one himself more than halfway up the field to open up the scoring 7-0.
Down the stretch in the first quarter, Carl Junction’s Mason Gilbert connected with Bryant Hanks to knot things up 7-7.
With a few minutes to spare before the half, Marcus Lopez-Durman gave the Bulldogs their lead back after trailing 14-10. The senior running back did what he’s been doing all season long by punching in another Carl Junction touchdown to give the visitors a 17-14 advantage.
However, the Pirates put on a few late-game heroics to squeeze by the Bulldogs on their home turf in a thrilling 35-32 finish.
